Amy and Angie got together one day for lunch at Mimi's.  They talked about joining forces and hosting a workshop together and how much fun that would be.  Between the two of them, they have close to 20 years being professional photographers.  One thing they both have in common is their love for running a business.  Now that Angie's littlest is in school all day and Amy's are all teenagers, reaching out to photographers and teaching them about how to run a more efficient and profitable business seemed like the next perfect step.  But these two girls...they decided to dream big.  They didn't let it stop at a workshop.  They both agreed to not limit what they could share.

So dream they did.  And Blush was born.  And it all started over lunch.

This is what Amy and Angie want for you and why Blush is here as your resource.  They want you to dream.  But not just dream the dream.  They want to give you the tools to make the dream come true.  Maybe you've already been working on your dream and you just don't know what to do next.  You don't know how to reach more clients or how to price yourself effectively.  You love taking pictures, but you know that's not enough.  (trust us, it's not.)  Blush is your go to place to read blog posts to encourage you as a business owner.  Blush is here to give you templates and e-guides to help you succeed, while putting polished marketing tools in your hands to present to clients.  And workshops!  Want to hang out with Amy and Angie?  This year they will be hosting a few half day workshops for local photographers,  a full day workshop, as well as an overnight retreat!  Seriously, some amazing things are planned for this year!

Amy has owned her own photography business, On the Phippside Photography, for almost 7 years.  She's been a mother for 19 years (her kids are now 19, 17, 16 and 13) and a wife for 24 years.

She's an eternal optimist, an owner of way too many black shirts, a wearer of flip flops in the rain, a driver who knows she has 20 miles of gas left when the light comes on and a good old fashioned, paper note taker.  Amy loves chocolate, Dr. Pepper, naps, soft blankets, fuzzy socks, cuddles with her dogs, staying up late binge watching movies and eating popcorn.  She has no sense of time, so mini sessions tend to run a little longer, she tends to stay up a little later than she should and she has to set alarms for everything.

I feel like I started my photography journey in a completely different lifetime! I have always had an interest in photography, but didn’t have time to actually learn it until after I had finished college (my dad gave me a camera for graduation – a Canon Rebel (film!)) and I enrolled in a “community education” class at the local university. And that is where I learned how to shoot in manual.

But I had a “real” job doing public relations at the time and just did photography as a hobby, photographing my friends kids, weddings – whatever I could just to figure out what I wanted to do, and to perfect my craft.

Portraits by Angie Lane was born just a few months after my first daughter and for the past 13 years it has been quite a journey! I specialize in family sessions that focus on the relationships and love in that family as well as child sessions, stylized “Shining Star” sessions for a single child and babies. During the past 13 years I also discovered that not only do I love photography, but I love running a business! I love doing marketing and networking with other people and figuring out how to make a profit without sacrificing time with my family.

I am so excited to start a new chapter with Blush and to be able to share all of the things I’ve learned with up-and-coming photographers and well as those who have been in business for a long time!
